Goats!

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY AUDUBON SOCIETY has offered funding to
help support the use of goat herds to clear brush and invasive plants in the
Sepulveda Wildlife Reserve. Other Southern California cities (San Clemente,
San Francisco. Hidden Hills, Palos Verdes) have hired professional goat herds
to clear dangerous brush in their areas and keep the wildfires at bay. “Goats
can easily clear in hard to access areas in a sustainable, safe manner and keep
our parks safe while lending a hand to our hardworking firefighters. SFV
Audubon is offering this support to LAFD, Recreation and Parks, or any
official entity that will take responsibility for getting the Basin cleared and
safe for our wildlife as well as residents” stated Katheryn Barton, President
of San Fernando Valley Audubon Society.
