On June 29, Marianne and Richard Davis delivered the final 35 SFV Audubon Birding Backpacks to the East Valley Regional Library in North Hollywood. Branch librarian Ann Bowman (pictured in green) and her staff were thrilled to receive them!
The charming 1920s-era branch is named for Amelia Earhart, who hailed from the area.
With this delivery, the Los Angeles Public Library now has over 70 backpacks to circulate throughout the San Fernando Valley. Each backpack contains quality binoculars, the Garrett Kimble guide to Southern California birds, and other essential birding tools, giving our community everything they need to discover local birdlife.
We’ll reconnect with library branches in late summer to plan birding presentations ahead of fall migration.
